Advocacy Board
The Pediatric Advocacy Board currently has 70 members who represent a variety of specialties and include both junior and senior faculty from downtown and partner hospitals. One of the main efforts of the Department of Pediatrics Advocacy Board is to provide education, facilitation and mentorship to faculty members interested in strengthening their skills in advocacy. Contact us if you would like to join the Pediatric Advocacy Board.
Workshops and Advocacy Grand Rounds are presented each year. In addition, a competitive grant application to seed faculty advocacy efforts is offered. Mentorship to the faculty awardees of the advocacy grant is provided as needed. See a list of Faculty Development Grants.
In addition to faculty development, several faculty from Advocacy Board participate in the development and implementation of Lurie Children’s Community Health Needs Assessment. Advocacy Board faculty members are direct and mentor pediatric residents who have chosen to complete the Advocacy/Population Health Area of Focus.
