I chose Lurie because on my interview day and at trivia I genuinely felt like I could be best friends with the residents in this program. I loved that the residents were dedicated to their work in the hospital, in the community, and their passions outside work. I loved that residents were involved in research and publishing research spanning from subspecialty to community partnerships.

I love population health and health services research. During my time here, I have been extremely well supported by our leadership team and my mentors to pursue scholarly activity that I find rewarding and have formed strong connections with community partners. The residents here value excellence and pursue it daily, which is such a gift when working long hours.

Applicants can contact me about moving from the south (moved to Chicago from Miami!), the importance of snow pants, moving to Chicago without a partner, primary care, health services/QI/public health research, community partnerships during residency.

I chose Lurie for its strong commitment to advocacy, excellent training, and the genuine sense of community. At trivia night, seeing residents from all classes laughing, sharing inside jokes, and clearly enjoying each other’s company showed me this was a place where real friendships grew and thrived—I knew I wanted to be part of that and I have truly found that here.

I love Lurie because it has helped me grow both personally and professionally. The people here have made the hospital feel like home—I have found lifelong friends, inspiring mentors, and a supportive community that feels like family.
