What drew you to the field?

I initially fell in love with Infectious Disease because of my Microbiology class in undergrad and worked in a drug discovery research lab working with neglected tropical diseases. I’ve wanted to learn more about microbes and antibiotics ever since!

What are your research interests?

I am interested in organismal pathogenesis, mechanisms of drug resistance, and novel drug discovery research. 

What do you do for fun and to relax?

I like to play with my cat, Mr. Jones, bake (I’m currently working on a strawberry cake recipe that takes about 2-3 days to construct), and play video games.

Why did you choose Lurie?

Lurie has a strong presence of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and I have wanted to live in Chicago ever since I was 19 years old. 

What do you love most about Chicago?

The excellent public transportation, excellent and diverse food, and big city living that is affordable.
